Cottesloe Golf Club is a Members golf club located in Swanbourne, Western Australia. Cottesloe Golf Club is ranked among the finest Metropolitan golf courses in WA with an 18-hole golf course layout boasting breathtaking views of the Ocean and the city from both the clubhouse and the golf course. The club was established in 1908 and has a reputation for excellence in service.
Cottesloe is seeking an Assistant Golf Operations Manager who possesses a passion for golf and desires to be part of a high performing team. Consistently delivering a premium member experience, as well as a strong focus on forward thinking through good organisation, time management, planning and solution-based improvement processes, is key to being successful in this role.
The position is full time with an expected roster of 5 days and 38 hours per week. Rostered working days are expected to be Tuesday – Saturday, however flexibility across a 7-day roster is required based on Club Events and Major Fixtures. Plus, there will also be coaching opportunities to supplement income outside rostered hours (for any applicant who is suitably PGA qualified).

General Duties:
- Supervise and be accountable for the retail operations and service of the club’s premium Golf Shop facility.
- Operate golf booking system and timesheets, with the ability to respond in a friendly, timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and reliable records.
- Work closely with the Director of Golf and club committees to ensure the efficient running of all matters concerning golf shop retail and golf operations.
- Administer and deliver internal club and external group events including the processing and publishing of competition results.
- Execute club member, reciprocal and visitor booking requests.
- Assist in maintaining a proper pace of play via course marshalling.
- Monitor and report all golf course directives, rules and regulations, including dress standards.
- Possess a strong knowledge of Golf Retail, Golf Operations and services offered within a premium private golf club.
- Regular reviewing and reporting on financial and service performance to the Director of Golf.
- Assist with developing and implementing budgets and targets for golf shop operations.
- Create and implement marketing and sales plans for all staff to utilise.
- Communicate with stock suppliers/account managers for all golf apparel and equipment, including ordering, product training and supply management.
- Conduct Golf Shop stocktakes, executing effective inventory management.
- With the assistance of the Director of Golf, supervise fortnightly golf shop and driving range rosters.
- Lead and support staff in executing professional appearance, language and interaction with other staff, members, and guests.
- Engage with and build relationships within the membership community to optimise feedback resolution.
- Ensure all workplace health and safety are met and maintained at a high standard.
- Passion for golf, customer service and achieving exceptional results.
- Experience and proficiency with Northstar Golf Operations Software and MiClub Golf Software.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with other staff and members.
- Proven golf shop retail and operations skills, knowledge and industry experience.
- Excellent communication, time and task management skills.
- Proven ability to work within a fast-paced active team environment.
- Professional, energetic and proactive approach to work.
- Working with Children Check and Current First Aid Certificate.
- PGA of Australia qualification advantageous but not essential.
