Responsibilities
-The Golf Course Spray Technician is responsible for assisting the Golf Course Superintendent with the overall maintenance and management of the golf course properties
-This position entails knowledge of all aspects of golf course maintenance, including equipment and turf, chemical and fertilizer products and application equipment
-Individuals may be expected to perform other duties as assigned, including working in other areas to cover absences or balance the workload.
- Mixes, loads, and applies turf chemicals and fertilizers utilized in the maintenance and management of designated areas as directed and in accordance with product labeling, local, state and federal laws
-Identifies and reports pest and nutrient issues requiring corrective action.
-Assists in the supervision of the daily course set-up procedure including mowing, grooming, cup changing, tee marker location, cart path only and debris cleanup
-Trains, assigns and supervises crew members in the proper use and handling of all chemicals, fertilizers and related products
-Coordinates with Golf Course Superintendent on special projects, daily work assignments and progress of work
-Responsible for compliance with safety procedures including use of proper PPE, recordkeeping, MSDS filing, and safe work practices
-Follows employee work habits to ensure proper safety procedures and equipment operation as required
-Maintains chemical and fertilizer storage areas and application equipment in a neat and organized manner
Requirements
· Florida Fertilizer & Pesticide applicator License
· Minimum 1 year of chemical or spray application experience in the golf industry.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions and percentages.
· Ability to perform physical work in all weather conditions.
· Reliable transportation
