Golf Course Manager
Position Summary:
Exeter Township is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our publicly owned golf course. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for golf, exceptional management skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding experience for golfers of all skill levels. As the Golf Course Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintaining course conditions, managing staff, organizing events, and ensuring the overall success of the golf facility.
General Duties:
Course Maintenance:
· Supervise and coordinate all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf care, irrigation, and pest control.
· Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure the course meets the highest standards.
Staff Management:
· Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of skilled groundskeepers, pro shop staff, and other golf course personnel.
· Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Customer Service:
· Interact with golfers and guests to ensure a positive experience.
· Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
Pro Shop Operations:
· Oversee pro shop inventory, sales, and merchandising.
· Work closely with vendors to maintain an attractive and well-stocked pro shop.
· Maintain liquor license and be listed as the owner.
Event Planning:
· Plan and execute golf tournaments, outings, and events.
· Coordinate with local organizations and businesses to promote the golf course as a premier event venue.
Financial Management:
· Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
· Implement cost-control measures without compromising the quality of services.
Marketing and Promotion:
· Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new players and retain existing patrons.
· Maintain website, social media, and other channels of marketing.
Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
· Implement and enforce golf course policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in golf course management or a related field.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Knowledge of turf management practices and golf course operations.
· Familiarity with golf industry trends, equipment, and technology.
· Customer-focused mindset with exceptional communication skills.
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent experience
· Valid PA driver’s license
· At least two (2) years of experience in golf club management or an equivalent combination of training and experience
· Class A Member in good standing of the PGA
