Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Mechanic to join our team at a premier golf course. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing the golf course vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, providing reliable transportation and equipment for our staff and guests. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on golf carts, utility vehicles, mowers, and other course equipment using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues utilizing schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals to identify root causes efficiently
  • Repair diesel engines, generators, and heavy machinery such as Caterpillar equipment with precision and attention to detail
  • Conduct electrical repairs including soldering, wiring, and electrical system diagnostics to ensure safety and functionality
  • Use welding and heavy lifting techniques to repair or replace damaged parts or structures on equipment
  • Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference
  • Collaborate with the groundskeeping team to ensure all vehicles and equipment are in top condition for daily operations
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a HD Diesel or Gas Engine technician or automotive mechanic with a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diesel engine repair, electrical systems, schematics, and equipment repair techniques
  • Familiarity with heavy machinery such as Caterpillar equipment and generators is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and mechanical troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members
  • Experience working with automotive repair systems, electrical diagnostics, and schematics is essential
  • Valid experience in dealership or heavy equipment environments is preferred but not mandatory
