THE ACCOMMODATION MANAGER OPPORTUNITY AT PORTMARNOCK RESORT & JAMESON LINKS
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, this role leads a team of 10+ to create a welcoming and impeccably maintained environment across guest rooms, public areas and function spaces. It blends hands-on leadership by recruiting, training, scheduling and coaching the team with responsibility for administrative and financial tasks such as payroll and budgeting. The role calls for strong organisational and communication skills, a collaborative approach across departments, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset. In addition, the post-holder takes ownership of inventory, purchasing and capital improvement projects, while playing a key role in supporting the senior management team to shape strategy and ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional experience.

Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links is a coastal resort located on the historic Jameson family estate overlooking the Velvet Strand, just outside Dublin. The property blends the heritage of the original nineteenth-century residence with a modern hotel offering sea-view accommodation, conference and event facilities, spa and wellness amenities, and a range of dining options, making it a popular destination for leisure travellers, weddings and corporate retreats. Adjacent to the hotel is the championship Jameson Golf Links, an 18-hole course originally designed by Bernhard Langer and opened in 1995. Set among natural dunes along the Irish Sea, the course has hosted events including the Ladies Irish Open and complements the resort’s reputation as one of Ireland’s most accessible seaside golf destinations.

Key Responsibilities
ACCOMMODATION MANAGER POSITION OVERVIEW
- Establish and implement housekeeping operating procedures and service standards to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee the daily activities of housekeeping supervisors and their teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and function spaces to maintain and enhance hospitality standards.
- Apply human resource management expertise, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance evaluation, to develop a skilled and motivated team.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, oversee payroll and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Handle all administrative tasks, including reporting, record keeping and compliance with company policies.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory management and the supply chain to maintain operational efficiency.
- Plan and execute capital improvement projects, such as room refurbishments, furniture replacement and upgrades to facilities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive guest experience.
- Contribute to the senior management team, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Professional and approachable attitude, demonstrating integrity and a commitment to excellence.
- Proven leadership and human resource management skills, including recruitment, training, coaching and performance management.
- Ability to motivate, inspire and develop teams to achieve their highest performance.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve operational challenges.
- Effective collaborator, able to work seamlessly across multiple departments to achieve common goals.
- Sound financial and basic accounting knowledge, with experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with staff, guests and management.
- Expertise in purchasing, inventory control and supplier management to ensure operational continuity.
- Experience in planning and delivering capital projects, upgrades and refurbishments within budget and timelines.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to senior management decisions and long-term operational planning.
- Knowledge of the Irish market desirable
- Formal education in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, or a related field
- Additional professional certifications or training in housekeeping management, leadership, or facilities operations (e.g., HR, budgeting, health & safety)
