Head Mechanic – Glenelg Golf Club
Glenelg Golf Club, one of Adelaide's leading private golf clubs with a vision to be one of the premier golf clubs in Australia. Rated within the top 40 Courses nationally, we are currently seeking a motivated and experienced full-time Head Mechanic to join our Course Maintenance team.
As a key member of the Course Maintenance team, working under the direction of the Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing the workshop, conduct and oversee maintenance and servicing of all course machinery, equipment and vehicles, coordinating the ongoing equipment replacement program, managing procurement and stock control, utilising digital fleet management systems and ensuring all operations are conducted within set budgets and timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all golf course equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs with internal electronic databases.
Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies with external suppliers.
Ensure all equipment is safe and operational.
Collaborate with Course Superintendent to schedule maintenance.
Stay updated on the latest equipment and maintenance techniques.
The following criteria is essential:
5+ years of experience as a qualified mechanic
Strong knowledge of small engine repair, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and uncompromising attitude towards quality of workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Valid driver's license.
Additional skills that would be favourable:
Previously worked on a golf course with knowledge of Toro and John Deere equipment, but not a requirement.
Light metal fabrication and sharpening and maintenance of cylinder mower cutting units
Forklift licence
