Overview

A Head Golf Professional within Boyne Resorts is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of their respective facility and staff. The individual must be able to create an atmosphere of world-class customer service for members, property owners and Resort guests. This individual must also embrace and strive to accomplish the mission and goals of Boyne Resorts, while implementing the established Boyne Basics program throughout their team.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all the needs of the Membership, daily play, and Resort Guests.
  • Effectively understand & utilize EZ Links and LS software (tee times, point of sale, etc)
  • Develop and manage an innovative tournament program, group outings, and leagues that service all customer segments.
  • Be able to develop and adhere to a tournament budget.
  • Oversee the development of operating personnel policies and training manuals for the golf operation.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf department staff and maintain accurate payroll.
  • Administer the Rules of Golf and educate staff. Promote and provide Rules of Golf clinics to the membership.
  • Work with the Town of Carrabassett Valley “Greens Committee” concerning course and facility operations and maintenance.
  • Play golf with a variety of customers in competitive and non-competitive environments as time permits.
  • Establish and monitor team sales goals for merchandise (weekly and/or monthly).
  • Oversee and develop a teaching program (group, private, juniors).
  • Attend trade shows whenever possible.
  • Be able to work cohesively with various departments to complete tasks and achieve goals (i.e. F&B, Group Sales, Golf Course Maintenance, Hotel/Reservations).
  • Work closely with Director of Golf and Event Coordinators to implement successful member and corporate outings.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience are preferred for this role.

  • have strong communication skills
  • be comfortable working with others
  • be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • have moderate computer skills
