Casablanca Golf Club in Mesquite, NV is currently seeking a highly motivated, self starter Irrigation Technician / 2nd Assistant. The golf course is a bermudagrass course with bentgrass greens. The Club host the NV Open every Nov, the US Open Qualifier in April and the Mesquite Amateur every June (largest Amateur tournament in the West)
The irrigation system is such a critical factor in keeping the course green in the desert southwest. It operates everyday of the year. There are over 2000 sprinklers on the golf course. The system is a 27 year old Toro Site Pro system with Osmac radio control. We have 2 pumping systems, 1 uses river water for the course and the other uses city water for the putting greens.
Duties will include:
- Daily inspection of all the sprinkles, valves and pipe
- Repair sprinklers, valves and pipe
- Sprinkler adjustments
- Control box repair and maintenance
- Pump maintenance
Golf course maintenance background required
Years of experience working with a golf course irrigation system OR a strong desire to learn
Working knowledge of basic electricity related to sprinkler operation.
Must be able to work for long periods of time outside in extreme heat and in direct sunlight.
Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and dig repeatedly throughout the day.
Must be able to work weekends & holidays plus long hours during overseeding in September.
Toro irrigation experience would be helpful
Play golf would be a plus
Possession of a valid driver's license is required
