Our distinguished course spans 48 hectares, segmented into three unique paddocks, and is a testament to our dedication to innovation and superior quality for our golfing members. The extensive course reconstruction from 2018-2019 employed pioneering techniques, and our use of pure distinction bent grass greens in Sydney underscores our commitment to leading and striving to improve. Ranked #73 in Australia, we are steadfast in our aspiration to elevate our standing further.
Additionally, we will provide an outstanding maintenance facility and team with significant resources to help you deliver a high quality product.
The Role:
The Golf Course Superintendent will collaborate intimately with the CEO and the Chair of the Grounds Committee, fostering robust relationships with key board members. The ideal candidate will possess the requisite industry credentials and exhibit a profound understanding of maintaining a premier golf course, ensuring an unparalleled experience for our members. We seek a dynamic leader with a proven track record of inspiring and nurturing a positive team ethos, ideally with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading an on-course team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CEO to enhance member satisfaction through impeccable course presentation and surroundings.
- Supervise the golf course team, bowls green, encompassing recruitment, training, and development, while fostering a positive team culture.
- Expertise in budget preparation and management.
- Develop and implement critical documents including course standards, enhancement plans, landscape master plans, and annual maintenance plans.
- Review and adapt the daily work practices of all staff to ensure resources are optimised in the presentation of a high quality course and general surrounds.
- Establish a close working relationship with our course architect.
- Contribute to the execution of the club's strategic initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current golf course machinery operations and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience in managing irrigation and maintenance challenges.
- Possess relevant qualifications in Sports Turf Management or Horticultural Trade or equivalent.
- Proficiency in all aspects of WH&S, staff rostering, and other duties pertaining to daily and weekly golf course maintenance.
- Cultivate strong relationships with members, committee members, department managers, suppliers, and staff.
- Provide regular communication updates to Course Committees.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training and conferences.
- Embrace feedback from Committees to continually enhance the course's presentation.
- Knowledge of Dam Safety legislation and requirements would be advantageous
- Proven experience in a similar prestigious role (ideally 5 plus years) or a 2IC who is ready to take the next step
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or higher)
- Chemical Applications & Safe Handling Certification
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Be self motivated and punctual with the ability to work and lead under pressure
- Knowledge of the application of Organic treatments to turf
- Positive demeanour; excellent work ethic; can do attitude; best in class attention to detail
