The club has a thriving and young membership providing the means for continual improvements to golf course and clubhouse grounds. Shadow Valley Country Club is committed to providing exception playing conditions year-round.
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for golf course management. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, ability to prioritize expectations of facilities, a deep understanding of turfgrass management, and the ability to motivate and inspire a large team to achieve excellence.

Collars/Surrounds: HGT Bluegrass
Tee Tops: HGT Bluegrass or 419 Bermuda
Fairways/Approaches: Meyers Zoysia
Primary Rough: 419 Bermuda
Secondary Rough: 419 Bermuda and Tall Fescue/Bluegrass
Irrigation: RainBird 2-wire Stratus II
130 Acres of Maintained Turf
Staff: 9 Full Time (Including Assistant, Second Assistant, Mechanic), 3-4 Seasonal

Position Details
Title: Superintendent
Reports To: Director of Grounds
Supervises: Agronomy Team
The Superintendent is entrusted with the care, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the golf course, practice facilities, and surrounding grounds. This individual will serve as a hands-on leader, responsible for ensuring pristine playing conditions, environmental stewardship, and innovative agronomic practices that reflect the high standards of Shadow Valley and its membership.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the maintenance and care of the golf course and clubhouse grounds, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaping.
· Assists in preparing and maintaining the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
· Develop and implement agronomic programs for turf grass health, pest control, irrigation, and water management.
· Supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
· Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement in turf quality, drainage, playability, and aesthetics.
Requirements:
· 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field
· Strong knowledge of irrigation systems - operations and troubleshooting.
· 3+ years of experience as golf course superintendent or 6+ years as led assistant superintendent.
· Experience in the transition zone climate.
· Thrives and handles high expectations of course and self.
· Current pesticide license or ability to obtain.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $82,500.00 per year
