West Waterford Golf Club seeks to appoint a dynamic PGA Professional / Director of Golf to lead the next phase of its development and elevate all aspects of the club’s golf operations.

About the Role
Reporting to the Club Chairperson and Board of Directors, the PGA Professional / Director of Golf will:
-Modernise and lead all professional golf services at the club.
-Deliver high-quality coaching, custom fitting and player development programmes.
-Operate a retail-standard pro shop, providing premium equipment, apparel and repairs.
-Relaunch the Youth Academy, ensuring strong links with local schools and the community.
-Drive new revenue opportunities through professional services and enhanced visitor experiences.
-Advise the Board on operational best practice, member engagement and growth strategies.
This position is offered on a self-employed contractor basis and profit-linked earning potential through coaching, retail and performance incentives.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide individual and group coaching for all levels using modern teaching methods and technology.
-Deliver professional club-fitting, repair and retail services.
-Lead the West Waterford Junior & Youth Development Programme in line with PGA safeguarding standards.
-Support membership recruitment, retention and overall club experience.
-Represent the club professionally with members, visitors and the wider golfing community.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
-Full PGA Membership (PGA of Great Britain & Ireland).
-Proven coaching and player development expertise.
-Experience in retail operations, club fitting and business management.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service.
-Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and drive growth.
-Current safeguarding certification and eligibility for Garda vetting.
Contract & Remuneration
Type: Independent Contractor Agreement (Retainer + Profit-Share Model)
Retainer Range to be discussed
Additional Earnings: Commission from retail, coaching and fitting services
Start Date: November 2025 (flexible for transition)
Facilities Provided: Pro shop premises, access to course and practice areas, marketing support
