Job Summary

The Golf Shop Floater provides excellent customer service to owners and guests of Massanutten Resort through performing various jobs to include golf shop attendant, host, course marshal, and cart attendant. The Floater’s main emphasis will be as a golf shop attendant, but may be asked to perform other roles as needed for daily staffing. Customer service experience, retail experience, and computer knowledge is preferred. High school diploma or the equivalency is necessary unless currently attending school. A valid driver’s license is required to operate golf carts. The Floater position requires that an employee stand for long periods of time inside/outside with physical requirements such as stooping, bending, and lifting an average weight of 30 pounds.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, communicating product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service
  • Answer phones, make tee times, reserve lessons and clinics, and explain golf course policies to customers
  • Maintain inventory of supplies necessary for day to day operations and notifies supervisor when additional supply is required
  • Be knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise, sell merchandise and/or provide suggestions to patrons as appropriate to meet their needs
  • Maintain the golf shop in a neat and orderly fashion through cleaning, dusting, and organization.
  • Assist the golf professional staff in golf shop operations, tournament operations, and other golf-related activities
  • Inform Golf Shop Supervisor of any problems or complaints from customers as soon as possible
  • Be able to assist with any daily jobs including golf shop attendant, host, course marshal, or cart attendant
  • Other duties as assigned by management
