Portumna Golf Club (PGC) is seeking applications for the role of Golf Club Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the Club.
Set in a mature 18-hole parkland within the environs of the forest park, the Club has a growing membership of over 700 members in all categories.
PGC is ranked in the top 50 courses in Ireland, and in the top 20 for Parkland courses. It has a fully functioning and refurbished Clubhouse with Golf shop, Bar and Restaurant and is located within a 50 minute drive from Galway and Limerick and 25 minutes from the M6.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Golf Club Manager. As this role is critical in maintaining a welcoming, member-focused experience, previous experience in a Member and Guest based environment is desirable.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the traditions and game of golf at a members club and be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas : Managing in a multi-departmental environment including Administration, Retail, Hospitality and Membership Managing and developing employees Experience in the preparation and presentation of accounts and budgets Knowledge of up-to-date compliance, regulations and standards required for the leisure industry including HR, Health & Safety, GDPR, Child Safeguarding, licensing, catering and insurance obligations Proficiency in a range of software packages including Membership, Accounts and golf bookings Knowledge of IT Systems, multi-platform social media and web-based channels of communication Experience in dealing with subcontractors and other outside agencies Be an excellent Communicator in a Member & Guest based environment.
The position is based in the Administration Office at Portumna Golf Club. A competitive package will be structured based on experience and a full job description is available by request.
