Join our prestigious team as the Golf Course Manager at Brighton Lakes Recreation & Golf Club. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to manage all aspects of golf course construction and renovation projects and oversee the operations and strategic direction of our renowned golf course.

This executive role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team and uphold the highest standards of service and excellence in the golfing industry.

Brighton Lakes Golf Course features 18 championship holes along the Georges River in Moorebank. Designed by golf architect Bob Harrison, who also designed Ellerston, Moonah at The National, Stonecutters Ridge and Brookwater, the course offers a fun and challenging round of golf for professionals, beginners and everyone in-between.

This role ensures a high-quality golfing experience for members and guests whilst achieving financial and operational objectives.

The Golf Course Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Finance Manager, Club Captain, and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic initiatives and uphold the course’s standards of excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the golf course's reputation and profitability.
  • Identify, recommend, and manage the required contractors, specialists and consultants necessary to carry out the planning and development of golf course construction and renovation projects.
Leadership & Management
  • Recruit, train, motivate & lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
Operations & Management
  • Oversee the maintenance of the golf course to ensure it is in excellent condition.
  • Ensure the clubhouse surrounds are well-maintained and meet member and guest expectations.
Marketing & Community Engagement
  • Foster positive relationships with local council, businesses, neighbours, community groups and media.
  • Represent the golf course at industry events, community functions, and networking opportunities.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified Golf Course Superintendent
  • Proven experience in developing & implementing golf course strategic plans with emphasis on major construction and renovation projects.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability in budgeting and financial management
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australia’s golf industry standards and regulations.
  • Passion for golf and turf management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer focused service.
  • Innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to fulfill duties effectively.
  • Dedicated to continued personal and professional development
