The Golf Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the golf club. This position requires strong leadership, management skills, and a passion for golf. The Golf Club Manager ensures that members and guests receive excellent service, manages club staff, and maintains the club’s facilities and financial health.

Reports to: General Committee

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the golf course, pro shop, clubhouse, restaurant, and other facilities.

  • Ensure that the course is well maintained and operations run smoothly.

Staff Management:

  • Hire, train, and supervise club staff, including greens staff, food & beverage team and administrative support.

  • Develop and maintain staff schedules, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive working environment.

  • Ensure high levels of customer service and professionalism.

Member Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly.

  • Oversee the management of the membership base including subscription renewals, applications and inductions.

  • Organize member events, tournaments, and other social activities to engage the club community.

  • Regularly communicate with members about club updates, special offers, and events.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the club’s annual budget and financial plans.

  • Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Submit a monthly report to the General Committee regarding financial outcomes

  • Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for improving profitability.

  • Oversee billing, membership dues, and other revenue streams.

  • Complete payroll for all staff

Marketing and Sales:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the club and attract new members.

  • Design promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and digital content.

  • Promote golf packages, corporate events, and membership offerings.

  • Ensure the Club is updated with current golf industry trends and changes.

Maintenance and Facilities Management:

  • Ensure that the golf course and other club facilities are well-maintained and meet industry standards.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the golf course, including landscaping, turf care, and equipment management.

  • Ensure that club facilities (clubhouse, restrooms, etc.) are clean and well-maintained at all times.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations, licences and legal requirements, health and safety laws, and environmental requirements.

  • Maintain safety protocols for both members and staff, including emergency procedures.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop long-term strategies for the growth and development of the club.

  • Work with the General Committee on major capital projects, renovations, or expansions.



Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, sports management, or related field preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course management or a related field.

  • Proven experience in staff management, operations, and customer service.

  • Strong knowledge of the golf industry and trends.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building and staff motivation.

  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and financial reports.

  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with golf course management software is a plus.



Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Occasional travel may be required for professional development or industry events.



Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience, plus Superannuation. Paid leave and professional development costs.
