Wingfield Golf Club
The Turf Care Department is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are team oriented, have a passion for the outdoors and want to be a part of a growing culture that strives for excellence.
Greenskeepers Required
Wingfield Golf Club is an 27 hole golf course currently reestablishing itself within the Calgary Golf Community. The property was unkept for the entire 2020 season. Ownership is committed to improving the course conditions and playability of the property which sits on 300 acres just east of the Calgary International Airport in Calgary’s NE. With 5 sets of tees and playing anywhere from 5300 to over 7200 yards it appeals to all levels of play.
Job Description: Duties related to this position include, but are not limited to;
· Reestablishing green surrounds and fairways through sodding, overseeding, topdressing and ensuring the proper cultural /growing practices are being applied and executed.
· Bunker detailing including preparation for sand placement.
· Tractor and trailer/material hauler operation (larger golf course equipment)
· General mowing of turf including Fescue areas, Roughs, Fairways, Tees, Greens and Surrounds.
· Detailed mowing of bunkers and slopes with Trimmers and Ride-on mowers.
· Bunker Maintenance.
· Assist Senior Staff with Irrigation Audit including mapping, troubleshooting and head/valve box levelling.
· Assist with irrigation repair and reclamation.
· Supervised Fertilizer application
· Supervised Herbicide application
· Maintain a clean work environment
· Working outdoors (proper gear is a necessity: CSA boots and rain gear needed)
Wages
· Hourly wages starting at $17-$20 per hour based on a 40 hr work week
· Seasonal Position starting April 1-May 1 ending August 31-October 31.
Must have a valid drivers license
The Senior Management Team is a group of individuals that are hard working and really enjoy what they do. Come and enjoy a rewarding summer of fun with a few challenges a long the way.
