Ashburn Golf Club | Canada
Expires: October 31, 2024
Full job description
Wage: $15.50-16.50/ Hour
Job Length: September – October
Schedule: Monday through Friday and work every 3 weekend
Start Time: 5:30am on Weekdays and 5am on weekends.
Description:
As Halifax’s premier private golf club for over 100 years, Ashburn strives to produce the best conditions possible on course and provide a first-class experience for its members and their guests. With two properties, located downtown and in Windsor Junction, members and their guests have their choice of two unique properties.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Greens Department team's to help provide these conditions and standards. This is a full time, seasonal position running from the September through October, weather dependent. This position could lead to the candidate coming back in the early spring in the following year and years to come.
Previous experience is not required but is a benefit. This is a great transferable position for those who are already in the landscaping industry.
Job Description:
Both courses are currently looking for individuals to fill spots on their respective crews. If you live in the city and are interested, the "Old Course" would be a great fit. If you are just outside the downtown area, the "New Course" may be a better commute.
Due to the unique type of tasks and pace, we do all our training in house. In compliance with provincial health and safety standards, all new staff will be trained at the course by experienced members of the team and management. There are a variety of tasks preformed on the course and standards that must be met, so when it comes to training, we want to make sure it is done right.
Tasks may be, but are not limited to:
- Mowing various surfaces (both riding mowers and traditional push mowers)
- Using line trimmers, backpack blowers and various other small engine equipment
- Overseeding various surfaces for recovery from play
- Bunker maintenance (raking and shoveling of sand)
- Helping with projects (sodding, tree work, etc)
- Course set up
"Old Course" interest (Downtown), please contact Rene George (rgeorge@ashburngolfclub.com)
"New Course" interest (Windsor Junction), please contact Mathew Hamilton (mhamilton@ashburngolfclub.com)
Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
