Full job description
Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Golf Course Maintenance - Equipment Technician.
This position is responsible for helping to maintain the Uncle Remus Golf Course under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent. The various responsibilities include but are not limited to mowing short grass areas, mowing rough, blowing leaves and debris, line trimming, edging, blowing, digging, shoveling, spreading pine straw and mulch, and any other tasks that may be required. This position also assists the Superintendent with maintaining the course’s fleet of golf cars and equipment. This includes changing oil, changing tires, greasing, preparing equipment for daily tasks, adjusting heights of cut, fixing equipment issues, and other services as needed. This position will necessitate the use of large and small mowers, tractors, golf cars, and hand operated power tools such as line trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and edgers, as well as various shop tools and equipment.
Minimum qualifications include a valid Georgia driver’s license, good attitude, willingness to learn, and self-motivation. Applicants will need a basic understanding of machines and how to perform basic mechanic duties. Applicants must have the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift at least 50 pounds, work independently and as part of a team. Applicants must also be able to work in various outdoor and indoor conditions including heat, cold, sun, rain, and wind. Some weekends and holidays will be required. This is a full-time position with pay based on experience.
