*Golf Course Maintenance Crew* Cross Creek Country Club is seeking full-time Golf Course Specialists to join our Golf Course Maintenance Team in Mount Airy, NC. A Golf Course Specialist takes care of the grounds, the golf course as well as the equipment and works on projects in and around the clubhouse as needed. This position reports to the Superintendent. *Position Summary:* The Golf Course Specialist responsibilities include: * Ensures the golf course, clubhouse grounds, and maintenance building presentation and appearance is always clean, pleasing to the eye, and impeccable in its presentation * Attends the agronomy staff meetings scheduled by the Golf Course Superintendent with golf course personnel that covers training, customer service, and progress since the prior month * Assists with the implementation of all fertilizer and pesticide programs * Safely operates the maintenance equipment * Maintains maintenance and oil/gas logs on equipment * Cleans and inspects machinery before and after each use * Reports any mechanical issues to the Superintendent * Loads and unloads material * Mows fairways, roughs, and greens * Rakes bunkers * Trims trees and removes cuttings * Collects and empties golf course waste canisters * Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts * Water plants * Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes * Plants flowers, bushes, and plants as needed * Lays sod * Rakes leaves and bunkers * Assists with special projects *Schedule:* *Multiple positions are available * 1- Must be available Monday through Friday from 6:30am - 3pm. This is a full time position with benefits offered. Some weekends this is Saturday & Sunday only from 6:30-10:30am. *Physical Demands & Work Environment Requirements* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: * Walk and stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly; up to 75 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move heavy objects. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently: * Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90 and below 40 degrees. * Work near: moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals. * Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud. The ideal candidate will have previous experience at a golf course or with a landscaping company.
