Job Summary: The Golf Camp Lesson Instructor is responsible for assisting the Golf Programs Supervisor with supervision of all daily golf programming held at the Wilmette Golf Course, including leading classes and developing lesson plans. The Golf Camp Lesson Instructor will teach the fundamentals of the game to campers of all abilities in a fun and interactive way using a combination of traditional and non-traditional methods.

Job Summary: The Golf Camp Lesson Instructor is responsible for assisting the Golf Programs Supervisor with supervision of all daily golf programming held at the Wilmette Golf Course, including leading classes and developing lesson plans. The Golf Camp Lesson Instructor will teach the fundamentals of the game to campers of all abilities in a fun and interactive way using a combination of traditional and non-traditional methods.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
- Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
- Ensure that classes are set up on-time and according to the lesson plan
- Check-in students and take attendance for scheduled classes
- Follow class curriculum as provided by supervisor
- Maintain class management and use class time wisely
- Begin and end scheduled classes on time
- Maintain and organize equipment storage area
- Provide a fun, positive and engaging camp atmosphere for campers
- Have a positive, approachable attitude, and use it to motivate campers
- Convey information about the Wilmette Golf Course programs to the public
- Develop positive relationships with participants and patrons
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled
- Work collaboratively with other staff as needed
- Be a positive role model for students
- Responsible for providing motivational support and guidance to participants
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Knowledge of golf terms, rules, and equipment required
- Golf experience preferred
- Understand the fundamentals of the golf swing
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to take initiative and use good judgement in responding to situations that arise
- Ability to take direction and adapt to the work environment
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- One or more years experience working as a youth coach i.e. camps, classes, after school programming
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend and kneel
- May spend time indoors, in a controlled environment and outdoors in an uncontrolled environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies
