Summary: Under the supervision of the COO, the Golf Coordinator is responsible for providing customer service, maintaining building, equipment, and grounds at the YMCA Golf Center. The Golf Coordinator must have a real enjoyment of people and be able to provide a safe and secure environment for participants taking lessons and using the Y Golf Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting with appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Education and/or Experience: Must have knowledge of teaching golf skills, rules, and etiquette. Must have 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, curriculum, policy/procedure manuals, and financial documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA. Ability to verbally communicate effective instructions to program participants and other staff members.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: First Tee Assistant Coach and/or First Tee Level One Coaching certifications are highly desired and encouraged to be acquired within the first 6 months of employment. CPR/AED/First Aid for infant, child and adult, Blood borne Pathogens, and other training as assigned.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have competence on a computer and in communication via email and phone. Must be able to operate and maintain lawn equipment and golf carts.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific hearing and vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but at times loud.

Assists in recruiting, training, and developing part-time golf staff and volunteers.
Assist in monitoring the department budget and program enrollments.
Ensures all applicable programs, facilities, and events have adequate staffing and supervision.
Creates and implements new program activities as agreed upon with the supervisor. Follow YMCA curriculum, registration and program preparations for every scheduled program.
Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
Monitors, evaluates, and tracks the effectiveness of the Golf Center and programs. Responds to member, participant, and community inquiries and complaints within one business day. Uses feedback and trends to recommend improvements to supervisor.
Monitor, clean and maintain all equipment. Works with the supervisor to determine when specific program areas should not be in use and follow inclement weather procedures as needed.
Ensure the program area is ready for use during all scheduled times and that all staff are in proper uniform.
Create an environment that fosters engagement, connectedness, and opportunity to strengthen families. Continually identifies areas for development for programming and member services.
The community will view Two Rivers YMCA as an integral part of its resources to support golf development for all ages.
The Golf Center income will increase annually and programs offered will have increased enrollment while maintaining expenses.
Members and community will be provided with quality service resulting in increased membership and program retention.
YMCA facilities and equipment will always be clean and in good working condition.
