Position Overview: Pro Shop Attendants are responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in the pro shop, assisting with equipment sales, managing inventory, and ensuring a smooth operation of the shop. This role includes greeting and assisting golfers, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment.
Reports to: Golf Pro
Schedule Requirements:
Availability to work 3-4 days per week, early mornings, closing shifts, weekends, and holidays (typical shifts are 7-2 and 2-Close)
Key Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
- Greet customers as they enter the pro shop and provide helpful, friendly assistance.
- Assist customers with selecting and purchasing golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Maintain knowledge of products, including golf clubs, balls, clothing, shoes, and accessories.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card payments, and provide change when necessary.
- Manage the rental of golf carts, clubs, and other equipment as required.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding pro shop merchandise, tee times, and other golf-related information.
- Keep the pro shop clean, organized, and well-stocked with products.
- Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and priced, and maintain inventory levels.
- Assist with special events, tournaments, and promotions as needed.
- Keep track of inventory and notify management of low stock or order needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company standards.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
License or Certification:
Valid Driver’s License (Required)
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Knowledge of golf equipment and the game of golf is preferred.
- Experience in retail or a customer service position is preferred.
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and processing transactions.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Retail environment within the pro shop, typically located near the golf course.
- Fast-paced, customer-focused setting with high interaction with golfers and guests.
