Job Description

Ashley Hall is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and passionate individual to help lead our Varsity Golf program as the Assistant Head Coach. This individual will be responsible for helping to build and develop a successful, competitive golf program while fostering a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in the fundamentals of golf, possess strong leadership skills, and have a track record of success in both coaching and player development.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Coaching: Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, ensuring they not only excel on the course but also grow as individuals. Build a cohesive and motivated team focused on course management, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Program Development: Help develop and implement a comprehensive training program that prioritizes the fundamentals of golf, including swing mechanics, short game, and mental performance. Create long-term strategies for program growth, including talent identification and fostering a competitive culture.

Practice & Tournament Preparation: Help plan and execute effective practices, ensuring players are continually improving their skills. Prepare the team for competition through tactical preparation, course management strategies, and opponent analysis.

Tournament Management: Help lead the team during tournaments, making strategic decisions that maximize performance. Maintain composure and focus, setting an example for players both during competition and off the course.

Athlete Development: Focus on the holistic development of student-athletes, teaching them not just golf skills but also life skills such as leadership, responsibility, and work ethic.

Collaboration: Work closely with the head coach, athletic staff, and other school departments to ensure the golf program aligns with school goals and values.

Community Engagement: Foster a strong connection with the school community, including parents, alumni, and local golf clubs. Promote the golf program and support engagement at home and away tournaments.

Administrative Responsibilities: Help manage team logistics including scheduling practices, tournaments, travel arrangements, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years coaching or playing golf at the high school, collegiate, or professional level, with a proven track record of success.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of golf fundamentals, including swing mechanics, short game, course management, and mental conditioning.

Leadership & Passion: A dedicated leader with a passion for teaching golf and building relationships with student-athletes. Must possess excellent communication skills, be approachable, and serve as a positive role model.

Commitment: Willingness to commit time and energy to the growth of the program, including afternoons, weekends, and travel for tournaments.

Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and school administrators to ensure a positive experience for the team and school community.

Coaching Certification: PGA membership or equivalent golf instruction certification preferred but not required.

As the Assistant Coach, you'll be responsible for helping to lead practices, developing competitive strategies, and providing mentorship to our student-athletes. We're seeking someone with:

Coaching Experience: Whether you've coached at the high school level or beyond, we're looking for someone with a strong understanding of the game and proven leadership skills.

Positive Role Model: Our coach should exemplify sportsmanship, integrity, and respect both on and off the course.
