Position Title: Athletic Trainer for Rutgers Women s Volleyball, Men s/Women s Golf
Position Status: Temporary Full Time Employee
Target Start Date: February 5, 2024
Assignment Length: This is a temporary, 6-month position.
Position Summary: RWJ Barnabas Health is currently accepting applications for the position of Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will serve as temporary, full-time athletic trainer with Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, with primary support of the Women s Volleyball and Men s and Women s Golf programs.
Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is in Piscataway, New Jersey and is a member of the Big Ten Conference and NCAA Division I.

Requirements/Qualifications
National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, in good standing.
New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training License, in good standing.
Active AHA BLS CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer prior to start date.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to meet the extensive time and travel commitments required for a Division I athletic program, including non-traditional working hours, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion in managing personal health information.
Requires ability to routinely lift equipment and supplies - up to 50 pounds - from ground and assist with ambulation of injured individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Athletic Training or related field.
Prior professional experience providing care for elite level volleyball or related activities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Deliver athletic training services to student-athlete population including, but not limited to, injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics related health care administration in consultation with, and under the supervision of, the Assistant Director of Athletic Training, Director of Athletic Training, Chief Medical Officer, Team Physicians, and other qualified medical personnel.
Maintain appropriate and up-to-date medical records.
Within the bounds of confidentiality, make sure that relevant information is set forth and presented to coaches, academic support, sports health personnel and other health service providers, as well as to student athletes and their family members in a clear, concise, and cogent format.
Work in conjunction with allied healthcare providers and athletic department staff regarding student-athlete needs in the areas of strength and conditioning, nutrition and nutritional supplementation, hydration, injury prevention, exercise technique, and rehabilitation of injury.
Assist with coordination of transportation for student-athlete health and wellness appointments on/off campus.
Upkeep of athletic training facilities, hydrotherapy equipment, physical modalities, and other supplies.
Additional compensation opportunities available through non-athletic department sponsored events and per-diem athletic training opportunities.
