Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the overall maintenance and management of the golf course, ensuring optimal playing conditions and a pristine landscape. You will assist in supervising daily operations, overseeing landscape maintenance activities, and implementing horticultural practices that promote healthy turf, trees, and gardens. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to the excellence of our golf course environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising the daily landscape maintenance operations, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aeration, and pest control to maintain high-quality turf conditions.
  • Support irrigation system management, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring efficient water use across the course.
  • Oversee landscaping projects such as planting new greenery, tree care, and construction activities to enhance course aesthetics and functionality.
  • Supervise staff involved in lawn care, gardening, and general maintenance tasks, providing guidance and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the course grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair and coordinate necessary maintenance or improvements.
  • Assist with environmental stewardship initiatives by promoting sustainable practices in landscaping and horticulture.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent to develop schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure all tasks meet quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, or turf management with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
  • Demonstrated supervising experience with leadership qualities that motivate teams toward excellence.
  • Knowledge of lawn care techniques, irrigation systems, tree care practices, and general gardening skills.
  • Familiarity with construction projects related to golf course development or renovations.
  • Ability to perform maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
