Job Description: Assistant Golf Coach at BNL High School
Position Overview: BNL High School is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Assistant Golf Coach to contribute to the growth and triumph of our golf program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in golf fundamentals, effective coaching methods, and the ability to guide and inspire student-athletes. The Assistant Coach will collaborate closely with the Head Coach to organize training sessions, strategize, and prepare for matches—reports to the Head Golf Coach and Athletic Director.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and execute comprehensive and engaging golf practices focusing on skill enhancement, teamwork, and physical conditioning.
- Assist in analyzing opposing teams and developing game plans with the coaching staff.
- Provide players with personalized coaching and constructive feedback to enhance their technical and strategic capabilities.
- Attend all team practices, matches, and events as required, including occasional weekend travel for away matches.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and dedication.
- Aid in coordinating team activities, fundraising efforts, and community engagement initiatives.
- Monitor and support the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
- Uphold the school's and district's regulations regarding athlete conduct and safety.
- Contribute to equipment management, course setup, and other logistical tasks as necessary.
- Prior experience playing golf competitively is desirable.
- Coaching experience, especially at the high school or club level, is an asset.
- Solid grasp of golf rules, strategies, and coaching methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey instructions, offer feedback and engage with players, parents, and staff.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and collaborative approach towards coaching and teamwork.
- Ability to motivate and encourage athletes to realize their maximum potential on and off the course.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all players.
- Availability during after-school hours, evenings, and weekends for practices and matches.
- Valid coaching certifications or willingness to acquire necessary certifications.
- Completion of background checks and other essential clearances according to the school district policy.
- Adherence to all school and district policies and procedures.
